TBPG Actions in Response to COVID-19

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, TBPG has made some changes
to its operations, and has instituted a temporary CE Policy for all P.G. licenses that expire
between March and August 2020.  For more information,
please see TBPG Response to COVID-19.

TBPG will continue to monitor and make any necessary business adjustments
as needed.  The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has detailed and
up-to-date information about the impact of COVID-19 in Texas and
the State’s response and efforts.

ASBOG Examination Information

The next ASBOG examination date is:
October 2, 2020 (Application deadline – 5pm, August 4, 2020)
March 19, 2021 (Application deadline – 5pm, January 6, 2021)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the March 2020 ASBOG  examination was cancelled.
All candidates that were registered for this examination have been notified that their
registration was deferred to the next examination date of October 2, 2020. If you
were impacted by this COVID-19 related cancellation and require any additional information,
please contact licensing@tbpg.texas.gov or call 512-936-4403.

TBPG Online Services

TBPG’s online license services has a new look!
New computer system upgrades have been implemented.
Our goal is to offer a more user-friendly and reliable online experience
when applying for and renewing licenses, tracking continuing education credits,
and submitting any required licensing documentation.

HB 1311 Passed

HB 1311, the bill to continue the regulation and functions
of the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists, has passed.
The state’s regulation of the geoscience profession will continue
until September 1, 2025, unless extended.
